I’m kidding, I’m addicted to books.
Some years ago I was at FNAC and found the book Acuarela, Inspiracion y Técnicas de Artistas Contemporâneosby Helen Birch(*). I never regretted having
bought it.
This book is a very useful guide to someone who already works with watercolour and/or mixed
media or to someone who is about to begin using those media.
The book showcases more than 80 visual resources in gouache, inks, acrylic inks, digital, which are explained through the works of recognized contemporary artists in illustration.
It also provides useful information and practical tips on a wide range of topics such as tone,
perspective, colour and much more besides.
It is a very beautiful and innovative book which I browse frequently, either to search for
different techniques or to be inspired to use the tips in it on my art work.
- Helen Birch is an artist and illustration tutor in U.K.
